 Performers at St. Nicholas’

Praise ye the LORD. Sing unto the LORD a new song, and his praise in the assembly of the saints. Psalm 149:1

Danielle DiStefano, a Freshman pursuing Vocal Performance at SUNY Fredonia, comes highly recommended as a classically trained soprano. Her ability in singing operatic, sacred music and Broadway melodies has brought rave reviews and many encore performances from her audiences as one of Western New York’s finest young vocal performers.

Ms. DiStefano has performed in Puccini's Suor Angelica, with Opera Sacra in Buffalo and Nickel City Opera’s Rigoletto, Amahl and the Night Visitors and their upcoming production of Il Trovatore, June 2011.

She has also performed with The Cadenza Opera Workshop doing selected scenes from La Traviata as Violetta and The Marriage of Figaro as Susanna and the Countess.

Past performance venues have included the Burchfield Penny Art Center, Montante Cultural Center, UB Baird Hall, the Riviera Theater, the Basilica, in addition to local TV appearances and numerous private recitals, concerts and galas, here and throughout the US.

Danielle enjoys writing articles for Operabuffs and keeps a busy schedule singing as “The Wedding Diva” throughout WNY and Ontairo.

She is a proud member of the Chromatic Club and finds great joy in sharing her love

of opera and classical music with the community.

The New Chamber Ensemble was created in Richmond, Virginia in 1976, to perform chamber music that is rarely played due to unusual instrumentation. Its core group is viola and bass, often with oboe, flute or piano. In the past NCE has expanded to include bassoon, clarinet, cello, violin, and recorders. It has commissioned and performed music of contemporary composers, played many educational concerts in the public schools and brought the rich repertoire of lesser known composers to its audiences.
