Saint Nicholas Anglican Parish officially began its life on Sunday December 2, 2007 (1st Advent). We started as a Mission with the intention of providing outreach to a broader community.
Since St. Luke's Anglican Church served the area around East Aurora and the contiguous communities, St. Nicholas sought to establish itself and serve a community in the Northern Erie County area. We also were intent on finding a place that would allow a service at a time more conducive to family worship. After several weeks of "final planning" and built upon the work begun by the Strategic Planning Committee of St. Luke's Vestry, the new Anglican Church of St. Nicholas held its first service in the offices of Transit Psychiatry in Lancaster NY.
St Nicholas remained there until after the New Year then moved to the Fairdale, a banquet facility located in Williamsville NY. Because of disruptions caused by other scheduled events at the facility and looking to reduce the cost of facilities use, St. Nicholas then moved to the Millennium Hotel in Cheektowaga, New York remaining there until it moved in to its current home - the former St. Bonaventure RC Church in West Seneca.
Thanks to the dedicated effort of so many wonderful Christian people who make up our parish family, St. Nicholas continues to preach the gospel and bring others to a knowledge of God - Father, Son and Holy Ghost.
We work tirelessly so that all may come to know Jesus Christ as their own personal Lord and Savior and embrace the Holy Scriptures as their blueprint for living. AMDG!
